*The Playlist Day: Playlist #22 – Goody

Goody calzó gratamente con ser el primer playlist de éste año y a la vez ser un playlist muy ‘upbeat’, uno que queríamos hacer hace tiempo ya.
La lista tiene líneas super animadas y hasta casi infantiles que viajan por varias décadas; sin duda el grupo que me llevó a hacer el playlist y que para mi marca la pauta es XTC con ‘When You’re Near Me I Have Difficulty’,con ese aire desordenado que tienen y que siempre me recuerdan gratamente a Talking Heads.
Siguiendo en la línea ochentera, ‘Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girls)’, de Haircut 100 (si les gusta, por fa bajen el Pelican West), una más tranquila de Crowded House, y así hasta mezclarse todo con grupos tan nuevos como Harlem, un remix muy muy bueno que hizo Hawthorne a Peter Bjorn and John, ‘Coca Cola’ de Little Red, que siendo una canción bien buena, tiene su humor, y encabezando con el clásico-feliz-infaltable para esta lista: Junior Senior con ‘Shake Me Baby’. A más de uno le debe traer recuerdos.
Un treat como para ‘partir’ contentos el 2012 musical con TYQ. Más abajo el video para ‘Debbie’ de Architecture in Helsinki, por lejos una de mis favoritas de la lista.
*Goody fits coincidentally with being the first playlist of the year and at the same time being a very ‘upbeat’ playlist, one that we wanted to share for a while now. The list has very cheered up lines to it, almost childish, that travel through decades; with no doubt, the band that made me think about this playlist and sets the mood is XTC with ‘When You’re Near Me I Have Difficulty’, with that kind of messy vibe they have and always reminding me gratefully of Talking Heads.
Following that 80′s line, ‘Favorite Shirts (Boy Meets Girls), by Haircut 100 (if you like it, please download Pelican West), a slower song by Crowded House, and so on, ’til everything mashes together with bands as new as Harlem, a really really good remix that Hawthorne made for Peter Bjorn and John, ‘Coca Cola’ by Little Red, that being a very nice song, it has its humor, and heading with a happy-indispensable-classic for this list: Junior Senior with ‘Shake Me Baby’. Might bring memories to more than one of you.
Kind of like a treat to happily ‘start’ a musical 2012 with TYQ. Below, the video for ‘Debbie’ by Architecture in Helsinki, by far one of my favorites.
